As Lead Pastor of First Baptist Church since 2013, Allen’s goal is to share the Bible in a way that’s clear, understandable, engaging, and life-transforming. Allen has a Master of Divinity Degree from Talbot Theological Seminary and has been teaching the Bible since junior high; something he loves to do.   Married in 1990, Allen and Heidi complement each other as a couple and raised two sons, Jake and Grant. Originally from southern California, they are now enjoying the beauty of the Monterey Bay and serving here at FBC.

Jeff grew up in the Central Valley of California and has ministered at FBC since 2012.   He has a BS degree in Biblical Pastoral Studies and continued his studies at Western Seminary Phoenix.   Jeff has ministry experience with Worship and Arts, Discipleship, and Students.  His heart's desire is to see the church gathered passionately for Jesus and actively loving those around them in tangible ways of outreach. Jeff and Lynn have been married since 1986 and together they have raised three children  - Megan, Whitney and Noah.   Jeff enjoys making music in his recording studio, doing production work and loves riding motorcycle with his son!  

Andrew is passionate about discipling youth and comes from a rich pastoral heritage. Raised in Southern California, Andrew came to know and love the Santa Cruz area while a student at UCSC.  After graduating, he spent time building connections with teens from local high schools during his youth ministry internship.  He is currently pursuing theological studies at Gateway Seminary and brings his many talents to serve our church family.

We have a vibrant team of volunteers headed by Tracy Laws, who help make the various children's classes and events a fun and safe place for kids.  We come alongside parents to train up their children and provide spiritual guidance.  Check out our Children's Ministry page for more information or send us an email if you have questions.

The "hub" of all church activity can be found with Karen.  She has managed the office since 2001 and wears many hats.  She and her husband Ron have been married since 1988 and have three grown children: Timothy, Jeffrey, and Emily.  When she isn't in the office, Karen is busy with Scouts BSA as the SC County District Advancement Coordinator.  She enjoys reading, crafts (mainly crocheting, knitting, and sewing).  Karen also enjoys watching the Hallmark Channel, cooking, and spending time with her kids whenever she can.

Darlene brings her love for order and community to her role as our Bookkeeper.  A devoted wife to Mark and mother of five, Darlene finds joy in swimming and cherished family time.
